Sedation

Our office offers sedation for patients who suffer from dental phobia and uncontrolled anxiety. In the majority of anxious patients, the anxiety is easily controlled or eliminated by taking a prescription antianxiety oral medication. These types of medications are taken in the form of a small pill an hour before the procedure. In the rare event that the patient would require deeper sedation a dental anesthesiologist will perform IV sedation in our office. Patients who receive antianxiety medications must be accompanied by a responsible adult and should not drive or go to work following the treatment.
